Review: UNi 100% Pure Argan Oil

In the beauty world, Argan oil seems to have become the next big thing. Every company seems to have put out a product with some form of this effective yet gentle oil in it. Lately, I’ve been testing a lot of product with Argan oil in them, most with great results. UNi’s Pure Argan Oil is much like the others, effective and nourishing, but at a really great price! Right now, this Argan oil is $14.27 on Amazon for two ounces!

With UNi’s Argan oil, a little bit goes a long way. My hair was softer and smoother after using this product and much less frizzy. I was able to turn my unmanageable curls into a sleek style that suits me much better. Like other hair oils, I have to be careful with how much I use and make sure that my naturally voluminous hair doesn’t fall too flat. I also have to be careful with how much I put at the crown of my head to keep my hair from looking too oily. After some experiences with Argan oil, it has become much easier to judge how much to use. UNi’s Argan oil, like other good quality oils, comes in a dark bottle to protect it, but this treatment has an eyedropper for dispensing. It works for the small amount I have to use for the length of my hair.

This is cold pressed Moroccan Argan oil that is unrefined and organic. It has essential fatty acids, omegas, and vitamins and has restorative powers for skin, hair, and body. It claims to be non-greasy and lightweight, and if used in the right amount, it is both. Review: Foxbrim Total Hair Repair Oil

Foxbrim’s Total Hair Repair Oil has a name that reminds me of a product out of history. You know, when the manufacturers made claims over the miracles their products could perform. However, unlike history’s outrageous products, this one actually works!

I really like the packaging. It is bright and modern and the bottle is dark glass to keep the oils protected. It comes with a pump top which make it easy to dispense the right amount. The first time I used this product, I think I actually used to much, which really weighed down my naturally curly and frizzy hair. The next time I used this repair oil, it went on much easier and I used a lot less. My hair came out perfectly straight and still had volume. No breaking out the flat iron for me! I was so pleased with that. In more ways than one this hair oil was repairing my hair as it was saving it from excess heat damage. Each time I’ve used this oil I have smoothed it through my hair, brushed it through, and then blew it dry with a hair dryer. I have yet to use this product and then air dry my hair. I just think I prefer using this product to straighten my hair.

Since I typically have oily hair, I really have to be careful with how much I use; usually I use two or three spritzes of the oil. I can get away with washing my hair every other day if I don’t use too much of this product. My hair is never dry and feels smooth and strong after use. I have virtually non-existent frizz after use. I can’t wait to try this product in the Summer and see what it does for my hair. We’ve been seeing a lot of rain lately and usually the weather causes my frizzy locks to go out of control. This product keeps my hair calm and smooth.

Free or Cheap Hair Dye at CVS!

If you haven’t hightailed it over to CVS for this deal yet, you might consider going after hearing about this! There is a clearance sale going on right now at CVS on Clariol Nice N’ Easy Foam Hair Color. I managed to pick up four boxes, but they had been picked through quite a bit by the time I had stopped in today. Two of the boxes were marked at 75% off and the other two were marked at 50% off. It was great deals all around when you add in the P&G coupons that were in the paper this past Sunday.

Review: Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Dust It Powder

First Impressions: For a first time use, I really enjoyed using this Dust It powder. I had great control over my hair for a long time. I cannot recall if I had control for the twenty four hours the bottle says because I did have to sleep, but this powder was perfect for a nice night out. I loved that it was mattifying. I will often have a shine in my hair about half a day after straightening my hair and it took much longer than that for the shine to develop this time. It is made with Silica, for a “strong matte feeling and volume” control, according to the website. It is also marked gluten free which is great to see for people with gluten allergies.

This product, at least for me, required a little bit of research for directions and style advice. The bottle doesn’t really have directions on it and I think that makes it a little harder to use.

Long Term Impressions: I’ve used this product for a little while now and each time I’ve had the same great results. Please keep in mind that if you get this product your hair will feel like it has a product in it that is much like hair spray. There will be texture difference and just a little bit of style control. Each time I’ve used this Dust It powder I’ve only needed to use a little bit. I don”t really like that the powder is a light color, even though it disappears pretty well. I just prefer having the reassurance of knowing that if I miss a spot, it will disappear.

At a price of $23.50 R.V. for a .35 oz. bottle (at select salons and ulta.com), this IS flat out expensive! I probably won’t be purchasing this product after my bottle runs out though it will take me a long time to finish off this bottle of Dust It powder despite how small it is. My Tips: Using this product is pretty interesting, but make sure to only use a little bit at a time. Just a single shake can give you more than enough volume control in a section of your hair. I prefer to use this product after I’ve straightened my hair and it has fallen a little flat. I applied this powder and then lightly brushed at it with my fingers at the roots to get it into my hair and out of sight. Worked pretty well too. Then, I ran my fingers through my hair to give it more volume. I found that I have no need for this product other than when I’ve straightened my hair because my hair naturally has a lot of volume.

Here are my before and after photos. My side swept bangs certainly had that little bit of “extra oomph” in them.
